Atlanta native James C. Taylor, III is an accomplished pianist, vocalist, composer, and recording artist with more than two decades of experience creating memorable musical experiences. From elegant weddings and corporate gatherings to intimate celebrations and concert stages, James is known for his expressive musicianship, versatility, and ability to connect with audiences through music.

With musical roots deeply cultivated in gospel music through his upbringing, family heritage and Faith, James discovered his natural, God-given ability to play by ear at an early age in church. While largely self-taught in this musically-rich environment, his foundation was further enriched through formal studies in cello, vocal performance, and music theory throughout primary, secondary and post-secondary education. During this time, he served as Assistant Principal Cellist in his high school Philharmonic Orchestra, served as a chamber chorus section leader and Music Theory tutor, and performed with the prestigious GMEA All-State Chorus and Georgia State University Singers. 

James began performing professionally around the age of 15, developing an extensive career providing live music for weddings, corporate functions, private celebrations, and special events. His diverse musical background and intuitive approach to performance allow him to create distinctive musical atmospheres that complement life’s most meaningful occasions.

Beyond the stage, James is passionate about using music as a vehicle for positive change. Inspired by a charitable donation from the proceeds of his debut instrumental album, Christmas at 16 (2009), he founded The Gift of Music Project, a philanthropic initiative that has helped raise more than $8,000 for charitable causes through benefit concerts and community support. His most recent concert, Songs of Restoration (2025), promoted hope, emotional wellness, and meaningful human connection during suicide prevention awareness month.

As an independent recording artist, James continues to share original music inspired by faith, personal experiences, and the power of human relationships. His recently released single, “Rely on You,” reflects his commitment to creating music that encourages compassion, connection, and hope.

Whether performing for a special occasion, sharing an original composition, or supporting a charitable cause, James remains guided by one purpose: to create music that moves the heart, uplifts the spirit, and makes a lasting difference.
