About the song
DESCRIPTION
“Rely on You” is an intimate piano-and-vocal acoustic-soul ballad about creating friendships safe enough for vulnerability, and finding the courage to use that safety when we need support.
Inspired by the loss of a friend and the realization that proximity is not the same as intimacy, the song explores both sides of meaningful friendship: knowing people deeply enough to notice when they may need support, and becoming willing to say “I’m not doing well” when trusted friends have made vulnerability safe. With faith-inspired undertones, it ends with one question: “Can I rely on you?”
We all need that kind of friend…
Can I Rely on You?
